The Brockley Anarchist Reading Club is beginning our discussion of David Graeber and David Wengrow’s The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity.
This book fundamentally challenges the standard narrative of human history, arguing against the notion that hierarchies and the state are inevitable. Graeber and Wengrow compel us to look past the confines of capitalism and actively practice imagining necessary political futures based on historical examples of freedom and self-governance.
